Job summary

South32 Group Operations Pty is seeking a Superintendent Processing Services for a permanent role. You will provide leadership across ROM operations, water management, tailings and onsite power services, with a 4:3 roster and FIFO options from Brisbane or Townsville, and DIDO from Mount Isa, Cloncurry and McKinlay Shires.

Qualifications

• Operational leadership within mining or mineral processing environments.
• Experience with ROM operations, ore management, water systems and tailings facilities.
• Tailings governance and GISTM requirements knowledge.
• Stakeholder engagement, contractor management and multidisciplinary team leadership.
• Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering, Metallurgy, Engineering, Environmental Science or related discipline.

This permanent role offers a 4:3 roster, with FIFO options from Brisbane or Townsville and DIDO from Mount Isa, Cloncurry and McKinlay Shires.

As the Superintendent Processing Services, You will be responsible for the safe, stable and efficient delivery of Processing Services, providing leadership and governance across ROM operations, water management, tailings and onsite power services.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren't limited to:

• Govern contractor performance, service delivery and commercial obligations.
• Ensure TSF operations comply with GISTM, legislation and site standards.
• Support open cut transition plans, including mine-to-mill integration and future infrastructure.
• Drive operational excellence, cost control and continuous improvement across accountable areas.

About the Candidate

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

• Operational leadership within mining or mineral processing environments.
• ROM operations, ore management, water systems and/or tailings facilities.
• Tailings governance, GISTM requirements and critical risk management.
• Stakeholder engagement, contractor management and multidisciplinary team leadership.

Qualifications for this position are:

• Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering, Metallurgy, Engineering, Environmental Science or a related technical discipline.
