Job summary

Sunshine Sugar in Condong, NSW is seeking a permanent Sugar Bagger (forklift driver) to operate packing floor equipment and bagged sugar on a 12-hour roster, with a mix of day and night shifts. You will work under the supervision of the Shift Supervisor and Packaging and Warehouse Supervisor to ensure smooth production and quality control.

The role requires a current forklift ticket, a strong safety mindset, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current forklift ticket and have forklift experience.
• Commitment to safety and a positive safety culture.
• Ability to identify problems with machinery and control systems.
• Good written and verbal communication.

Job description

We currently have a permanent Sugar Bagger (forklift driver) role available at the Condong mill. 12 hour roster, mix of day and night shifts. Must be handy on the forklift and reliable.

The role:

Operate packing floor equipment to produce 1.2 ton and 25kg bags of packaged sugar under the supervision of the Shift Supervisor and direction of Packaging and Warehouse Supervisor. This involves operating and controlling processes and procedures for:

• Monitoring product quality and following critical control point (CCP) release procedure
• Operating 25kg and 1.2 ton bagging lines.
• Storing and dispatching product
• Cleaning and general labouring tasks

To be eligible for these positions, applicants must have:

• Current forklift ticket with experience (essential)
• Commitment and good attitude to safety and culture
• Ability to identify and deal with problems involving machinery and control systems
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
• Ability to contribute to and work as part of a successful team
• Willingness to follow directions
• Self-motivation with the ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to contribute to risk assessment and procedure development and review
• Sufficient physical fitness, sight and hearing
• Willingness to accept interruptions to normal routine
• Flexibility to work rotating shift roster and be available for overtime
