Job summary

HDR is seeking a Substation EIT/Coordinator in North Dakota to conduct analyses and develop power-related design options, supporting project deliverables such as engineering drawings, cost estimates, and specifications. You will work alongside Project Engineers, EITs, Designers, and BIM specialists to ensure quality and timely results.

You will perform routine engineering tasks, contribute to inspections, and have opportunities to advance toward EIT certification within HDR's employee‑owned

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• Computer skills in Microsoft Office.
• Active participant in our employee- owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Conduct analyses to develop power related design options or recommendations.
• Assist in the preparation of project deliverables such as engineering drawing packages, cost estimates, and project specifications.
• Perform routine engineering assignments requiring standard techniques and procedures.
• Complete projects with clear objectives and limited variables.
• Work independently on small projects or with more senior engineers on larger projects.
• Support on construction inspection/administrative activities.
• Perform other duties as needed.

In the role of Substation EIT/Coordinator, we'll count on you to:

• Conduct analyses to develop power-related design options or recommendations, and assist in the preparation of project deliverables (examples include engineering drawing packages, cost estimates, and project specifications)
• Perform routine engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures
• Complete projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variables.
• Work independently on small projects, or assist more‑senior engineers / professionals on larger projects
• Work with assistance from Project Engineers, other Engineers In-Training (EITs), Designers, or BIM Specialists as needed
• Support on construction inspection/administrative activities
• Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate
• Candidates without their EIT will be placed into a Design Coordinator job code and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering
• Computer skills in Microsoft Office
