Job summary

HDR is seeking an Associate or Senior Associate Electrical Engineer to join the National Building Engineering Services team. You will lead the design and delivery of mission critical and data centre projects across Australia, acting as a trusted advisor and delivering technical leadership and quality outcomes.

The Role

We're seeking an Associate or Senior Associate Electrical Engineer to join our National Building Engineering Services team, with a focus on delivering complex mission critical and data centre projects across Australia and the broader region.

This is an opportunity for an experienced consulting engineer who enjoys combining technical leadership with project delivery, client engagement and team development.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead the design and delivery of mission critical and data centre projects, supporting clients through all stages of the project lifecycle.
• Act as a trusted technical advisor, providing design oversight, technical assurance and quality leadership.
• Drive successful project outcomes through effective multidisciplinary collaboration.
• Lead the resolution of complex technical challenges involving power distribution, resilience, system integration and energy efficiency.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and project stakeholders.
• Support business development activities including proposals, tenders and technical presentations.
• Mentor and develop engineers, contributing to capability building and the continued growth of the Melbourne electrical practice.
• Take on Project Leader responsibilities, managing project delivery, coordination, programme and performance.

Ideally, You’ll Have

• A degree qualification in Electrical Engineering.
• Significant experience in building services consulting, with demonstrated success delivering complex electrical engineering projects.
• A strong track record delivering complex electrical building services projects across all design stages.
• Demonstrated experience delivering mission critical and data centre projects will be highly regarded.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams and coordinating across multiple stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of Australian electrical standards, codes and regulatory requirements.
• Experience with HV and LV power distribution systems.
• Experience undertaking load assessments, fault studies and coordination studies.
• Proficiency with tools such as ETAP, SKM, PowerCad, Revit or similar platforms.
• Experience managing project performance, financials, resources and delivery outcomes.
• Demonstrated success in client relationship management.
