Job summary

The Australian Submarine Agency is seeking a proactive Supply Chain Engineer (Mechanical or Electrical) to join the Supply Chain Engineering Directorate within the Program Engineering Branch. The role focuses on governance, technical control, assurance and the establishment of frameworks to safely deliver the nuclear-powered submarine program.

Qualifications

• Strong Mechanical or Electrical engineering knowledge with regulatory exposure.
• Experience in governance, assurance and technical control within regulated environments.
• Ability to assess technical information and provide evidence-based recommendations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for technical audiences.
• Stakeholder engagement across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain SCE governance and assurance documentation.
• Support technical assurance, certification and compliance across the supply chain.
• Conduct technical assessments, reviews and assurance activities.
• Review technical docs, OQE, supplier deliverables to ensure compliance.
• Coordinate audits and supplier qualification activities.
• Identify risks and mitigation strategies.
• Develop assurance evidence packages and records.
• Liaise with internal/external stakeholders and suppliers.
• Communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Provide specialist engineering advice for governance and risk.
