Job summary

Enginium Pty Ltd in Adelaide is seeking a Systems Safety Engineer to support the development of a comprehensive safety case for a key Submarine program. This role involves executing detailed safety engineering tasks and integrating evidence from key capabilities to ensure safety and compliance.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and strong technical writing skills, with a mid-level engineering background of approximately 5–10 years. The position is focused on quality assurance and stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

• Mid-level engineering experience (approx. 5–10 years), sufficient to work autonomously on technical tasks but junior to the Project Director level.
• Demonstrated experience in Systems Safety Engineering and the application of safety standards (specifically MIL-STD-882E).
• Experience with the Defence Capability Lifecycle, preferably within the maritime or submarine domain.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate and document hazard identification and risk analysis activities in accordance with MIL-STD-882E.
• Draft and review safety artefacts, including hazard logs, safety requirements, and verification evidence.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure safety arguments encompass all FIC elements of the submarine capability.
• Maintain day-to-day engagement with submarine engineering authorities and stakeholders.
• Ensure all engineering deliverables meet ISO 9001 standards.
