Job summary

ASC Pty Ltd is seeking experienced Nuclear Safety Engineers to support the early establishment of nuclear safety, security and safeguards for the SSN-AUKUS sustainment program. You will shape nuclear arrangements, influence design assurance and support licensing and regulatory activities across shipyard facilities and operations.

Appointments may be made at Specialist, Senior or Principal level depending on skills and experience, with responsibilities spanning safety case development, governance

Qualifications

• Engineering degree (or related technical discipline).
• Experience in nuclear or radiological safety.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and technical communication skills.
• A disciplined, safety‑focused mindset.

Responsibilities

• Deliver specialist nuclear safety, security and safeguards advice.
• Support safety case development, safety assessments and design assurance.
• Contribute to licensing, regulatory and compliance frameworks.
• Review and challenge nuclear‑implicated systems, processes and artefacts.
• Support development of nuclear governance, emergency response and operational controls.
• Promote nuclear safety culture and mindset across the program.
