Subcontracts Manager – Procurement & Tendering

Job summary

UGL is seeking an experienced Subcontractor Manager to join our Perth team on a 6-month casual contract, supporting a major project in the Resources & Energy West Division.

You will drive downstream subcontractor engagement, develop procurement plans, issue tender packages, negotiate terms, and oversee contract handovers to project delivery teams. This role requires strong commercial acumen and stakeholder management in the Australian construction sector.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Business, Law, or related field (or equivalent industry experience).
• Proven contract administration experience in Australian construction or engineering sectors (brownfield projects preferred).
• Strong commercial acumen and understanding of contract law and procurement processes.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with strong stakeholder management.
• Strong understanding of category management and supply chain coordination.
• Commitment to compliance and ethical standards.

Responsibilities

• Procurement schedule development in liaison with Project Managers.
• Develop, evaluate, and award subcontractor tenders with project teams.
• Prepare subcontract instruments with appropriate contract models.
• Develop delegation of authority workflows and commercial business cases.
• Negotiate terms and conditions with vendor focal points.
• Oversee day-to-day supply chain activities and manage relationships with subcontractors.
• Develop contract administration guides and facilitate contract handovers.
