Job summary

Body Fit Training Chermside is seeking an experienced Studio Manager/Head Coach to lead our Brisbane operations and ensure exceptional member experiences.

You will balance strategic management with hands-on coaching, oversee staff, drive class quality, and implement engagement initiatives to grow membership across our Chermside and Albany Creek locations. The role emphasizes leadership, safety, and community culture.

Qualifications

• Recognised fitness coaching or PT qualification required.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in fitness coaching or PT.
• Experience in studio management or supervisory role.
• Ability to lead, mentor, and develop coaching staff.
• Strong knowledge of training methodologies, nutrition, and exercise science.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Experience managing budgets or operational metrics is a plus.
• First aid certification desirable.

Responsibilities

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and inspirational Studio Manager/Head Coach to lead our Body Fit Training Chermside facility or our Albany Creek studio in Brisbane. You will be the driving force behind the studio's operational excellence and member experience, combining strategic management responsibilities with hands-on coaching expertise. This role is pivotal to the studio's success, requiring you to balance business operations, team leadership, and direct member engagement to foster a thriving fitness community.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of studio operations, including scheduling, facility maintenance, member management systems, and administrative tasks
• Lead, mentor, and supervise coaching staff, ensuring high standards of instruction, safety, and member satisfaction
• Deliver high-quality group fitness classes and personal training sessions, maintaining exceptional coaching standards and member engagement
• Develop and implement member retention strategies, community-building initiatives, and specialised programming to drive studio growth
• Manage membership enquiries, on-boarding processes, and member relations to ensure outstanding customer service
• Monitor studio performance metrics, including membership numbers, revenue, member satisfaction, and class attendance
• Recruit, train, and develop coaching team members to cultivate a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
• Maintain compliance with health, safety, and fitness industry standards and regulations
• Collaborate with management to develop marketing strategies and promotional initiatives that attract and retain members
• Create an inclusive, welcoming atmosphere that celebrates member achievements and fosters community connection

What we're looking for

• Recognised fitness coaching or personal training qualification (e.g., Cert III/IV in Fitness, ACE, ISSN, or equivalent)
• Minimum 2 years' experience in fitness coaching, group fitness instruction, or personal training delivery
• Proven experience in a studio management or supervisory role within the fitness industry
• Strong knowledge of diverse training methodologies, nutrition principles, and exercise science applied to varied fitness levels and goals
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate, inspire, and build strong relationships with staff and members
• Demonstrated business acumen and experience managing P&L, budgets, or operational metrics
• Leadership experience with the capability to recruit, train, and manage coaching teams effectively
• Ability to teach and deliver high-energy, engaging group fitness classes or personal training sessions
• Problem-solving mindset with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and handle multiple priorities
• Passion for fitness, member wellbeing, and building a positive, inclusive community culture
• First aid certification (current or willingness to obtain)
