Job summary

City of Sydney is seeking a hands-on Studio Coordinator to support our creative studio spaces across cultural facilities. You’ll ensure safe, accessible environments, provide technical guidance, and oversee equipment while collaborating with tutors, contractors, staff and participants.

The role covers studio operations, workplace health and safety, and occasional delivery of public-facing programs. A rostered day off option (19-day month) may apply.

Qualifications

  • We’re looking for someone with advanced ceramic technical skills including kiln management and clay reclaim procedures.
  • Experience coordinating studio, workshop, cultural or technical spaces is essential.
  • Ability to apply workplace health and safety requirements in an operational environment.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills for multi-site coordination.

About the role

The City of Sydney's Cultural Programs and Services team is seeking a motivated and organisedStudio Coordinator to support the effective operation of our creative studio spaces across multiple cultural facilities.

You’ll play a key role in coordinating safe, accessible and well-functioning studio environments that support our community and our program teams. Working closely with Program Coordinators, you’ll provide technical advice, oversee studio assets and equipment, and implement best-practice operational and safety standards.

The role is hands-on and varied, combining studio operations, workplace health and safety and program support. You may also assist with the delivery of public-facing creative programs and events from time to time.

We’re looking for someone with:

  • advanced ceramic technical skills encompassing kiln management, clay reclaim procedures, studio safety standards
  • experience coordinating studio, workshop, creative, cultural or technical spaces
  • experience applying workplace health and safety requirements within an operational environment
  • strong organisational, planning and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple sites
  • excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with tutors, contractors, staff and community participants
  • a current Working with Children Check, or the ability to obtain one.

This role has the option of a rostered day off each month, known as a 19-day month.
