Emmaus College in Rockhampton invites applications for a Part-Time College Counsellor to support student mental health across the Rockhampton Region. This 19-hour-per-week contract runs until 17 January 2027, with pro-rata salary and 12.75% superannuation.

Qualifications

• Minimum required qualifications are a relevant 4-year undergraduate degree in Social Work, Psychology or B Education with a Masters in Guidance & Counselling.
• Current Blue Card (WWC) and Suitability Notice are required for the position.
• Undertake Student Protection Training and Workplace Health and Safety Training.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for individual counselling sessions via assessment, case formulation and intervention planning.
• Plan and provide small group interventions for students.
• Assist parents with referrals for ongoing counselling or support.
• Provide crisis interventions and refer to acute services when required.
• Collaborate with staff and external agencies to support students and families.
