St Mary's Catholic College in Cairns invites applications for a dedicated Student Support Officer (SSO) to manage the Student Support Room and support students to use evidence-based strategies to be ready to learn. You will handle data, liaise with Pastoral Leaders and Counsellors, and assist the Pastoral Care Team with emerging trends.

Qualifications

• Hold a Working with Children Blue Card.
• Be fully supportive of the ethos of Catholic Education.
• Tertiary qualifications at Associate Diploma level or Certificate level preferably in the areas of Youth Work, Social Work, or other related areas, as well as demonstrated relevant industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the Student Support Room and support students to use evidence based strategies to regulate energy and emotions to be ready to learn.
• Manage data and communicate with key stakeholders in relation to students who require additional support to engage in learning.
• Lend administrative support to the Pastoral Care Team and keep staff informed of emerging trends.
• Liaise with Pastoral Leaders, Heads of Year, College Counsellors and the Student Support Teacher.
