Job summary

The Department of Education Victoria invites applications for the role of Student Support Services (SSS) Team Leader, coordinating a local team of clinicians to support a group of schools in delivering services to improve student learning and wellbeing.

This full-time, ongoing role is based in Benalla, Wangaratta or Wodonga and requires collaboration with schools on universal services, early intervention, emergencies, and active participation in multidisciplinary Area meetings to support Ovens

About the Division

The position plays a key role in managing the local team of Student Support Services (SSS) clinicians to support a group of schools in the delivery of services to improve student learning and wellbeing.

The successful candidate will collaborate with school to identify, develop and coordinate strategies aimed at providing quality universal services for all students. The SSS Team Leader supports schools to address student wellbeing issues through early intervention and, in conjunction with the SSS Branch Manager, coordinate effective responses to emergencies and critical incidents as required.

The role also involves active participation in a range of multidisciplinary Area meetings to support positive outcomes for Ovens Murray students.

This is a full time (negotiable), ongoing position based in any of our 3 base offices in Benalla/Wangaratta/Wodonga.

The purpose of Student Support Services (SSS) is to assist children and young people facing a range of barriers to learning to achieve their educational and developmental potential through the provision of a range of strategies and specialised support at individual, group, school and Area levels.

SSS comprise a broad range of Allied Health professionals including psychologists, speech pathologists, social workers and visiting teachers. SSS staff work as part of a multi-disciplinary health and wellbeing team within Areas, focusing on providing group based and individual support, workforce capacity building, and the provision of specialised services.

SSS do vital work in supporting students' health and wellbeing - particularly our most vulnerable students - and are critical to building an excellent education system that reduces the impact of disadvantage.
