Job summary

Gympie Special School in the Wide Bay region is seeking a Head of Department - Student Services to lead MTSS, student support plans and interventions, and to drive wellbeing and data-informed decision making across the school.

You will mentor the Student Services team, coordinate professional learning in disability-inclusive practices, and foster collaborations with families and allied health professionals to promote positive student outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead MTSS and Individual Support Plans, coordinating interventions and disability-informed practice.
• Oversee student wellbeing and behaviour approaches, embedding Positive Behaviour for Learning and trauma-informed practices.
• Drive attendance, engagement and learning outcomes through data-informed strategies.
• Provide leadership to the Student Services team and build staff capability.
• Coordinate professional learning in disability, inclusive practice and wellbeing.
• Develop partnerships with families, community organisations and external agencies to coordinate wraparound support.
