TAFE Queensland invites applications for a Permanent, Full-Time PO3 Student Counsellor based at Cairns campus. You will provide confidential counselling and specialised career guidance to prospective and current students, helping remove barriers to education and employment.

You will advocate for students with special needs, work with staff, and maintain records. A Bachelor's degree in Psychology or Social Work and Blue Card are required.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree majoring in Psychology or Social Work from a recognised tertiary institution.
• Working with Children Check (Blue Card) is required.
• Driver’s Licence is required.

Aufgaben

• Provide psycho/social/educational crisis counselling to students in distress.
• Provide course and pre-course counselling and financial access assistance.
• Liaise with teachers and staff to provide vocational and career advisory services.
• Advocate for students regarding rules, appeals, and access to resources.
• Support staff with student learning and organise skill development programs.
• Assist students with special needs and maintain up-to-date information resources.
• Participate in external activities promoting Vocational Education and Training.
• Maintain records of service provision and understand financial aspects of the service.
