Job summary

Apollo Fabrication Group in Young, NSW is seeking a qualified Welder to join our fabrication team. The role involves reading blueprints, welding vertical, horizontal and overhead, and fabricating/finishing metal components to precise specs.

The ideal candidate holds a Certificate III in Engineering (Welding Fabrication) or an equivalent qualification, with at least three years of experience, and can work autonomously or as part of a team, maintaining safe work practices.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Engineering (Welding Fabrication) or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of three years experience in this role or similar.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills.
• Understanding of safe work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate structural steel as directed.
• Implement quality assurance procedures and requirements.
• Inspect machines and equipment prior to use.
• Run machines and equipment as directed.
• Read and analyse blueprints and drawings.
• Weld vertically, horizontally and overhead.
• Weld various metals using various techniques.
• Cut, roll, shape, bend, mould, spin, heat or hammer metal products to fabricate parts or sub-assemblies.
• Heat treat metal parts and components.
• Set up and/or operate hand and machine tools, welding equipment.
• Assemble parts and structures by lining up and joining them by welding, bolting or riveting.
• Finish products by cleaning, polishing, filing or bathing them in acid solutions, or by applying protective or decorative coatings.
