Job summary

Builders Steel Direct is seeking a structured and customer-focused Sales & Customer Service Administrator to support our structural steel team. This varied role covers enquiries through to delivery, with training in our products, systems and processes to develop knowledge of the steel and construction industry.

You will work closely with a busy team to ensure orders progress smoothly, while maintaining accurate records and delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Experience in sales administration or a similar role.
• Strong communication and a friendly, professional manner.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Proficient with Microsoft Outlook & Excel and business systems.
• Ability to read basic construction drawings.

Responsibilities

• Responding to customer enquiries by phone and email.
• Preparing and sending quotations, following up outstanding quotes and recording customer responses.
• Processing purchase orders and written quote acceptances.
• Entering and maintaining accurate customer and job information in our CRM, the Quote Register and Master Register.
• Coordinating with estimating, detailing, production and transport teams to provide customers with updates.
• Following up drawings, approvals and other information required to progress jobs.
• Confirming delivery requirements and communicating any changes or delays.
• Assisting with general sales administration and maintaining accurate records.
