Job summary

Kaizen Steel Pty Ltd in Dandenong South, Victoria is seeking a skilled Structural Steel Fabricator/Welder for a full-time role. You will fabricate and assemble high-quality structural steel components for commercial and industrial projects.

You will read engineering drawings, perform MIG and other welding, operate plasma cutters and grinders, and work with the project team to meet tight deadlines while maintaining safety standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Structural Steel Fabricator/Welder.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
• Demonstrated expertise in MIG welding to a high standard.
• Experience with plasma cutters, grinders and power tools.
• Valid driver’s license and forklift license (or willingness to obtain).

As a full-time member of our team, you will play a crucial role in the fabrication and assembly of high-quality structural steel components for a variety of commercial and industrial projects.

Key responsibilities

• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications to fabricate structural steel components
• Performing precision welding to join steel components using various welding techniques
• Operating cutting, grinding, and other fabrication equipment to prepare steel components for assembly
• Collaborating with the project team to ensure the timely and accurate completion of fabrication tasks
• Maintaining a clean and safe work environment, following all relevant health and safety protocols

About you

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Structural Steel Fabricator/Welder, preferably in the construction or manufacturing industry
• Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
• Demonstrated expertise in performing MIG and other welding techniques to a high standard
• Comfortable operating a range of fabrication equipment, including plasma cutters, grinders, and power tools
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Valid driver's license and forklift license (or willingness to obtain)
