Job summary

Aspect Personnel is seeking a Structural Engineer for a full-time role in Melbourne. You will contribute to design and analysis for diverse building projects across apartment, education, health, hotel, and public realm sectors.

Reporting to an Associate Director, you will coordinate with disciplines, conduct site inspections, manage technical documents, and guide drafters. The role offers training and support toward Professional Engineers Registration, with salary up to $110,000.

Qualifications

• Requires a recognised bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Experience as a Structural Design Engineer on building projects in a consulting environment.
• Familiarity with steel and concrete framed structures.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to work with clients and stakeholders.
• Ability to manage time and meet deadlines.

Due to continued project wins, this medium-sized engineering consultancy is seeking to add an additional Structural Engineer, on a full-time basis, to their growing team.

With diverse clients and projects, this firm has a strong reputation for delivering across apartment, education, health, hotel, and public realm sectors. Projects vary in size and scale, with a typical value between $5M and $500M.

Reporting to an Associate Director, your responsibilities will include:

• Performing engineering design and analysis in accordance with relevant codes and standards.
• Coordinating work with other disciplines such as architectural, mechanical, electrical, etc., and attending relevant project meetings.
• Completing site inspections, recording existing field conditions and overseeing the project through construction phase.
• Organise and coordinate technical documents.
• Coordinate and direct drafters, as required.

As the ideal candidate, you will have:

• A recognised bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Experience working as a Structural Design Engineer on building projects, in a consulting environment.
• Familiarity with the design and analysis of steel and concrete framed building structures.
• Attention to detail and the capability to follow up on targets and deadlines to achieve outcomes.
• The ability to work independently and to communicate clearly with clients, team members, and external stakeholders.
• Strong time management skills, and able to achieve deadlines and commitments.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
