Job summary

Aurecon is seeking a Structural Engineer to join the Mackay Industrial Structures Team. You will perform structural design and asset integrity tasks, with a hands-on approach to field delivery across operational sites.

You will conduct field inspections, defect assessments and remediation planning, support shutdown campaigns, and collaborate with clients, contractors and site teams to deliver practical, safe engineering solutions on site in Mackay and regional locations.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in structural or civil engineering.
• Experience in structural design, asset integrity, inspections, remediation, brownfield industrial work.
• Comfort working in the field on operational sites and during shutdown campaigns where required.
• Ability to develop workable site solutions.
• Strong client communication, teamwork and safety awareness.
• Willingness to live and work in Mackay and undertake regional site visits.
• Current driver license and ability to drive in regional/site environment.
• Industrial, mining, ports, materials handling or heavy infrastructure experience beneficial.
• Consultancy experience is useful but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Complete structural design and engineering tasks with a focus on asset integrity and field delivery.
• Conduct field inspections, defect assessments and condition reviews across industrial sites.
• Develop and specify structural remediation and repair solutions for site implementation.
• Support shutdown campaigns and site-based work including regional campaigns.
• Prepare and review structural deliverables, calculations and supporting documentation.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors and site teams to deliver safe, practical engineering solutions.
