Job summary

Lycopodium Limited in Perth seeks an experienced Structural Engineer to join our Perth-based team. You will deliver design outputs for foundation, concrete and steel structures for mineral processing projects, ensuring they meet project study requirements and client expectations.

Reporting to the Group Manager Engineering, you will mentor engineers and draftspersons, review calculations, liaise with clients through the project lifecycle, and ensure designs comply with quality standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years post graduate experience in structural design for mineral processing plants or related industries.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to interact with clients on design and drafting issues.

Responsibilities

• Provide structural analysis and design for foundation, concrete and steel structures.
• Prepare, review and check engineering calculations, specs and scopes of work.
• Coordinate with clients through the project lifecycle to deliver value.
• Mentor engineers and drafting personnel during design and commissioning phases.
• Ensure designs comply with review processes and quality requirements.
• Monitor project design teams and provide feedback and support.

Due to the Company’s current growth, we currently require experienced Structural Engineers to join our Perth based team.

Reporting to the Group Manager Engineering, the Structural Engineer will be responsible for producing proficient and accurate design outputs that are fit for purpose and in alignment with Project and Study requirements.

The tasks you’ll perform:

• Providing Structural engineering analysis and design for foundation, concrete and steel structures
• Preparing, reviewing and checking engineering calculations, technical specifications and scopes of work.
• Working closely with Clients through the project lifecycle to deliver value within project performance criteria.
• Mentoring engineers and draftspersons through practical guidance during the design and commissioning phases of projects.
• Ensuring technical solutions delivered during the study and design phases are compliant with design review processes and design quality requirements.
• Monitoring the progress and performance of project design teams and give input and provide feedback and support where necessary.

The expertise you’ll bring:

• Qualifications in Civil/Structural Engineering
• Min 3 years post graduate proven experience in structural design, particularly in steel and concrete structures for mineral processing plants and/or related industries
• Proven experience managing the interaction with Clients on design and drafting issues
• Extremely well-developed written and verbal communication skills
• High attention to detail and exceptional knowledge of engineering designs and calculations
• Solid work experience with engineering consultancies that specialise in minerals processing
