Job summary

Lycopodium Limited in Melbourne is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our local team. You will provide structural analysis and design for foundations, concrete and steel structures, prepare and check calculations and specifications, and collaborate with clients through every project phase to ensure value and performance.

The role requires 7+ years of post-graduate experience in structural design for mineral and industrial processing plants, Victoria registration preferred

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
• 7+ years post graduate experience in structural design for steel and concrete structures
• NER & RPEV registration for Victoria preferable
• Experience interacting with clients on design and drafting issues
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• High attention to detail and design quality
• Experience with minerals and industrial processing consultancies

Responsibilities

• Providing structural engineering analysis and design for foundations, concrete and steel structures
• Preparing, reviewing and checking engineering calculations, technical specifications and scopes of work
• Working closely with Clients through the project lifecycle to deliver value within project performance criteria
• Mentoring engineers and draftspersons through design and commissioning phases
• Ensuring technical solutions comply with design review processes and quality requirements
• Monitoring progress and performance of project design teams and providing feedback

Due to the Company’s current growth, we currently require experienced Senior Structural Engineers to join our Melbourne based team.

The tasks you’ll perform:

• Providing Structural engineering analysis and design for foundation, concrete and steel structures
• Preparing, reviewing and checking engineering calculations, technical specifications and scopes of work.
• Working closely with Clients through the project lifecycle to deliver value within project performance criteria.
• Mentoring engineers and draftspersons through practical guidance during the design and commissioning phases of projects.
• Ensuring technical solutions delivered during the study and design phases are compliant with design review processes and design quality requirements.
• Monitoring the progress and performance of project design teams and give input and provide feedback and support where necessary.

The expertise you’ll bring:

• Bachelors Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
• Min 7+ years post graduate proven experience in structural design, particularly in steel and concrete structures for mineral and industrial processing plants and/or related industries
• NER & RPEV registration requirements for Victoria is preferable or with the appropriate credentials to allow for registration
• Proven experience managing the interaction with Clients on design and drafting issues
• Extremely well-developed written and verbal communication skills
• High attention to detail and exceptional knowledge of engineering designs and calculations
• Solid work experience with engineering consultancies that specialise in minerals and industrial processing
