JT Consulting Engineers (JTCE) is an established structural and civil engineering consultancy with a strong presence in Victoria and decades of experience within the building and construction industry.

This role involves taking ownership of the structural design and delivery across residential, commercial and industrial projects, from concept through to construction, with direct client interaction and collaboration with architects, builders and consultants.

Job description

JT Consulting Engineers (JTCE) is an established structural and civil engineering consultancy with a strong presence in Victoria and decades of experience within the building and construction industry.

This position would suit an engineer who is confident working with a high degree of autonomy and is looking to take greater ownership of projects. You will work directly with clients, architects, building designers and builders and be involved in projects from initial structural concept through to design, documentation and construction.

The Role

You will be responsible for the structural design and delivery of a range of residential, commercial and industrial building projects, including new homes, extensions and alterations, townhouse and multi-unit developments, apartments, warehouses and other low-rise commercial projects.

Your responsibilities will include structural analysis and design; preparation and review of structural documentation; coordination with architects, building designers, builders and other consultants; undertaking site inspections and resolving construction issues; and managing projects with limited supervision.

This is a full time position Monday to Friday during the business hours of 8.30am to 5pm in office.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

Demonstrated experience designing timber, steel, reinforced concrete and masonry structures

Strong experience in residential engineering

Strong structural analysis and problem-solving skills

AutoCAD drafting capability is advantageous

The confidence to communicate directly with clients, architects, builders and other consultants

The ability to manage your own workload and projects with limited supervision

Professional Engineer registration in Victoria, or eligibility for registration, would be highly regarded.
