Job summary

Brighton Grammar School in Melbourne invites applications for a full-time Strength & Conditioning Coach. You will deliver age-appropriate classes across the school and community, developing pre-season and in-season programs to boost athletic performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelors preferred; relevant experience in youth strength & conditioning desirable.
• Experience delivering age-appropriate strength & conditioning for students and staff.
• Knowledge of youth development principles and training periodization.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, engaging strength and conditioning classes for students and staff.
• Develop pre-season and in-season conditioning plans with coaches.
• Coordinate internships and mentor students with a structured program.
• Integrate conditioning with Curriculum and fitness literacy goals.
• Maintain a tidy, hazard-free gym environment and uphold safety policies.

Working as BGS' full-timeStrength & Conditioning Coach, you will be responsible fordelivering a range of group fitness and strength and conditioningclasses to ensure positive health and wellbeing outcomes for thosewho attend. Working in our Annandale Gym, BGS Swim complex and theInvicta space, a key focus of this position is to foster apositive, motivated and community based training environment forstaff, students and members of the wider community.

As a strength andConditioning coach you will be responsible for:

• Delivering safe,stimulating and age-appropriate strength and conditioningclasses for students, staff and the wider community before,after and during the school day.
• Developing,planning and collaborating with the Head ofStrength & conditioning and sports coaches, a pre-season andin-season strength and conditioning program aimed at improvingathletic performance.
• Working alongside theHead of Strength and Conditioning to liaise with universitiesto coordinate Strength & Conditioning internship placements,providing ongoing mentorship and supervision, including thedesign and delivery of a structured pre-professionaldevelopment curriculum to support intern learning and practicalskill development.
• Together with the Headof Strength and Conditioning design and deliver the Strength &Conditioning component of the Physical Education curriculum incollaboration with Sport and Physical Education staff, ensuringprograms align with curriculum objectives and support studentphysical literacy, athletic development, and lifelongwellbeing.
• Ensuring a tidy,hazard free environment at all times.
• Otherduties as requested by the Head of Strength & Conditioning orChief Operating Officer.

Tobe successful and thrive in this position you willrequire:

• Bachelors of Exercise& Sport Science(desirable)
• Master’s Degree inStrength and Conditioning (desirable)
• ASCAlevel 2 (desirable or willing to achieve within 6months)
• Demonstratedexperience running Strength and Conditioning sessions foryouth, with a sound knowledge of long-term athlete developmentprinciples, periodization/planning, training techniques,coaching trends, and recovery methods.
• SoundIT knowledge and experience in using web environments toresearch and gather data (Microsoft Office, Teambuildr &Catapult GPS).
• Provenability to motivate and build strong rapport with youth inorder to enhance their fitness and overallwellbeing.
• Knowledge of currenttrends in health and fitness procedures and practices with aparticular emphasis on youth.
• Level2 First Aid certificate, current CPR, Anaphylaxis and AsthmaManagement qualifications.

A currentWorking with Children Check and National Criminal Record Check(Police check) is essential for this position. Should you not havethese current checks, you would be expected to apply for one shouldyou be successful in securing the position.
