Job summary

Morgan McKinley is seeking a Stream Lead to oversee the Capital & Other Prudential Reporting workstream in a major regulatory remediation program. You will lead end-to-end delivery, challenge methodologies, and coordinate across Finance, Treasury, Risk, Technology and Data to implement sustainable solutions.

This senior technical role requires deep knowledge of APRA reporting requirements and the ability to influence senior stakeholders across functions in a global banking group.

Qualifications

• Significant experience across capital reporting, prudential reporting, regulatory reporting, Finance, Treasury or related banking functions.
• Strong understanding of APRA prudential reporting and capital adequacy requirements.
• Experience across capital calculations, reconciliations, methodologies, controls and data/reporting governance.
• Knowledge of APS 110, APS 117 and APS 322.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of the capital and prudential reporting remediation stream from assessment through implementation.
• Act as senior technical SME across prudential reporting, capital reporting, governance and control frameworks.
• Assess methodologies, calculations, reconciliations, data flows and controls to identify weaknesses and root causes.

The organisation is undertaking a major regulatory remediation program focused on strengthening financial and prudential reporting, controls, data integrity and underlying processes. The program brings together senior stakeholders across Treasury, Finance, Risk, Technology and Data, with collaboration across Australian and international teams.

The role:

This is a senior technical leadership role for a capital and prudential reporting SME who can interrogate complex calculations and controls, challenge existing methodologies and lead remediation through to implementation.

We are seeking a Stream Lead - Capital & Other Prudential Reporting to lead a key workstream within this major regulatory remediation program.

You will bring deep expertise across capital, prudential and regulatory reporting, combined with the seniority and stakeholder capability to lead delivery, challenge existing approaches and influence outcomes across the organisation.

You will take ownership of the end-to-end delivery of the capital and prudential reporting stream, working through complex reporting, calculation, control and data issues, identifying root causes and translating findings into practical, sustainable solutions.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of the capital and prudential reporting remediation stream, from assessment through implementation and future-state transition
• Act as the senior technical SME across prudential reporting, capital reporting, governance and control frameworks
• Assess methodologies, interpretations, calculations, reconciliations, data flows and controls, identifying weaknesses and root causes
• Apply strong technical knowledge across APRA capital and prudential reporting requirements, including relevant standards such as APS 110, APS 117 and APS 322
• Identify and address reporting deficiencies, data quality issues, control weaknesses and underlying process problems
• Work closely with Finance, Treasury, Risk, Technology and Data teams to develop and implement sustainable solutions
• Challenge existing processes, methodologies and interpretations and translate findings into practical requirements and improvements
• Provide technical leadership and oversight, ensuring analysis is robust, evidence-based and translated into actionable recommendations
• Support regulatory, Risk and Audit engagement, governance forums and executive-level reporting
• Help establish sustainable future-state reporting processes and control frameworks ready for transition into BAU

This is not a traditional project management role - deep technical expertise in capital and prudential reporting is fundamental to the position.

Ideal skills and experience:

We are looking for someone with:

• Significant experience across capital reporting, prudential reporting, regulatory reporting, Finance, Treasury or related banking functions
• Strong understanding of APRA prudential reporting and capital adequacy requirements
• Experience across capital calculations, reconciliations, methodologies, controls and data/reporting governance
• Knowledge of relevant APRA standards, ideally including APS 110, APS 117 and APS 322
• Proven experience identifying root causes and remediating regulatory findings, reporting deficiencies, data quality issues or control weaknesses
• Experience leading complex regulatory reporting, controls, transformation or remediation initiatives
• The technical credibility to interrogate detailed issues and challenge existing approaches
• The seniority and communication skills to engage and influence senior stakeholders across multiple functions
• Extensive experience in a relevant banking, capital, prudential or regulatory reporting environment
