Job summary

IKEA Canberra is hiring a Workforce Planning Specialist to ensure the store has the right people, in the right place, at the right time, delivering an exceptional experience for customers and co-workers.

You will partner with leaders to balance demand, budgets and capabilities, using data-driven insights to optimise scheduling and labour costs while upholding IKEA standards and country guidelines. This is a permanent full-time role requiring flexibility to a 7-day roster.

Qualifications

• Experience in workforce planning, labour planning, scheduling or similar analytical role.
• Commercial mindset: balance customer demand, operational priorities with budgets.
• Ability to dissect data and present clear insights to stakeholders.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Experience with Excel and workforce management systems (UKG advantageous).
• Strong influencing and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Secure end-to-end workforce planning, forecasting, scheduling and roster publication.
• Lead partnership with leaders to co-create workforce plans balancing demand and budgets.
• Analyse workforce data to identify trends, risks and opportunities for stakeholders.
• Educate and coach leaders on People Planning principles and best practices.
• Review workforce structures and hours allocation to support operations and co-worker experience.
• Contribute to implementation and continuous improvement of People Planning solutions.
• Ensure alignment with IKEA People Planning principles and country guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with IKEA policies and legislative requirements.
