Job summary
Mareeba Shire Council is seeking a Coordinator Water & Waste Programs to lead planning and execution of operational and capital projects in water, wastewater and resource recovery. You will provide guidance, coordinate teams and ensure assets are maintained and upgraded efficiently.
This role offers a permanent, full-time position with strong conditions and opportunities to influence local infrastructure and service delivery across the Mareeba region.
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in a related field and a further five years’ relevant experience.
- A current Queensland C Class Driver Licence.
- Experience in developing and implementing operational and capital programs relevant to water, wastewater and resource recovery.
- Knowledge of legislation, standards and operations for local government water and waste activities.
- Procurement and contract management experience for water and waste services.
- Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills to relate with stakeholders.
- IT systems proficiency including GIS, Windows-based systems and PM software.

- Coordinate water, wastewater and resource recovery programs.
- Provide technical oversight to maintain and upgrade assets efficiently.
- Coordinate procurement, contractors and projects with stakeholders.
