Job summary

McArthur is seeking an experienced Strategic Transport Planner to lead planning across a major NSW rail infrastructure program. You will work with senior planning leads, advisers and government agencies to deliver integrated transport outcomes.

The role focuses on station access, interchange and multimodal connectivity, with emphasis on future network development and corridor protection in a hybrid Sydney-based environment.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience delivering strategic, multimodal transport planning within major infrastructure.
• Experience on major NSW transport infrastructure projects (e.g., Rail, Metro, NSW programs).
• Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary advisers and planning workstreams.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate strategic transport planning across a major rail program.
• Lead planning for station access, interchange, and multimodal connectivity.
• Contribute to strategic network planning, future corridors and protection.
• Integrate transport planning with land-use, precinct, and network considerations.
• Coordinate inputs across planning, demand forecasting, design, operations and property.
• Manage external advisers, scopes, deliverables, and interfaces.
• Review outputs for gaps, risks, dependencies requiring further analysis.
• Engage with government agencies, councils, operators and stakeholders.
• Prepare clear recommendations and governance papers for decisions.
