Job summary

BaptistCare NSW & ACT is seeking an experienced Sustainability Manager to lead our sustainability strategy, framework and action plans across the organisation. Reporting to the General Manager - Strategy, you will guide the development, execution and reporting of initiatives that support BaptistCare’s commitment to net zero by 2050 or before and our Reconciliation Action Plan.

This role is highly influential, enabling sustainability to be embedded into corporate strategy and decision-making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental, social or governance disciplines is required.
• At least 10 years’ experience in a senior sustainability role.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with ability to translate trends into guidance.
• Strong analytical capability with data interpretation and KPI development.
• Highly developed project and stakeholder management skills; able to lead across a complex org.
• Organised, reliable, independent and flexible in approach.
• Understanding and appreciation of BaptistCare’s Christian identity and values.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage BaptistCare’s sustainability strategy, framework and action plans.
• Guide development, execution and reporting of initiatives supporting net zero by 2050 or sooner, Reconciliation Action Plan, and other priorities.
• Embed sustainability into corporate strategy and decision-making; report to Executive Team and Board.
