Job summary

The University of Queensland seeks an experienced Associate Director, Space to lead strategic space planning and the development of a university-wide decant strategy across a major capital works program. You will coordinate relocations, enable works, and ensure operational continuity while guiding a Space Management team.

You will leverage data and stakeholder relationships to optimise space utilisation across multiple campuses and work with senior executives on governance and reporting.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience managing complex programs in large institutional environments.
• Demonstrated expertise in space management, strategic planning or portfolio optimisation.
• Strong stakeholder management, negotiation and influencing skills.
• Leadership experience including mentoring and developing teams.
• Experience with Archibus or similar facilities/spatial management platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic space planning, management and utilisation initiatives across the university.
• Develop and deliver a university-wide decant strategy for capital works projects.
• Identify suitable decant solutions and coordinate enabling works and relocations.
• Provide strategic advice and reporting to senior executives and governance committees.
• Lead, coach and develop a small Space Management team.
• Build relationships across Faculties, Institutes, Schools and professional units.
