Job summary

The University of Queensland seeks an Associate Director, Space to lead strategic space planning, utilisation and decant strategy across a multi-campus portfolio. You will coordinate relocations, enable works and operational continuity while guiding space policy and data-driven planning.

Reporting to Campus Planning, you will lead a small specialist Space Management team and collaborate with Faculties, Institutes and professional units to optimise space across the estate.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience leading complex programs in large institutions.
• Proven space management, strategic planning or portfolio optimisation.
• Strong stakeholder management with negotiation skills for senior levels.
• Experience improving space management policies, systems and processes.
• Demonstrated leadership including mentoring and developing teams.
• Experience with Archibus or similar integrated facilities software.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic space planning, management and utilisation initiatives.
• Develop and deliver a university-wide decant strategy for multiple projects.
• Identify decant solutions and coordinate enabling works and relocations.
• Provide strategic advice and reporting to senior executives and governance committees.
• Lead, coach and support a small Space Management team.
• Build relationships across Faculties, Institutes, Schools and units.
