Job summary

The Reserve Bank of Australia invites a seasoned Risk Advisor (Line 1 Risk and Compliance) to join the Workplace Department for a 12-month contract. You will partner with department leaders to uplift risk culture, assess material risks, and mature risk management practices across the business.

You will oversee incident reporting, support business continuity and exercise preparation, help prepare papers for Board meetings, and contribute to the effective design, testing and implementation of risk

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Line 1/2 risk and compliance, preferably in banking/finance.
• Experience designing and implementing risk and compliance frameworks; coaching stakeholders.
• Understanding enterprise-wide risk and compliance management frameworks, policies and standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide risk expertise to identify and assess risks to support business objectives.
• Advise on controls to mitigate material risk exposures.
• Provide subject matter expertise to test the effectiveness of key controls.
• Help develop credible action plans to return risk within appetite/target residual risk.
• Oversee incident reporting processes and assist leadership in risk control.
• Provide ongoing analytical reviews of risk management practices.
• Support RMS to identify, log and manage issues and incidents.
• Oversee updates to Business Continuity and Business Impact Analysis; coordinate continuity exercises.
• Assist Departmental Managers to prepare and present papers to Board/Management Committee.
