Job summary

Hastings Deering in Archerfield, Brisbane seeks a Procurement Category Specialist to drive sourcing outcomes across the business. You will lead RFQs, negotiate with suppliers, draft contracts and ensure governance, while working with Category Managers and stakeholders in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in multi-site procurement, sourcing, contract administration or related commercial role.
• Experience supporting or leading RFQ, RFP and tender processes, including evaluations and supplier engagement.
• Strong analytical skills to assess supplier proposals, pricing structures and opportunities.
• Ability to build strong relationships and collaborate with stakeholders across functions and locations.
• Solid understanding of procurement processes, sourcing docs and compliance requirements.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and exposure to ERP/contract systems is valued.

Responsibilities

• Lead Sourcing Activities – Manage RFQs, RFPs and tender processes from planning to award recommendations and contracting.
• Develop Procurement Documentation – Prepare scopes of work, pricing schedules, evaluation templates and contracts.
• Partner with Stakeholders – Advise and deliver fit-for-purpose sourcing solutions with operational teams and executives.
• Drive Supplier Engagement – Negotiate, onboard, implement contracts and manage supplier performance.
• Deliver Commercial Insights – Conduct market pricing analyses and supplier evaluations to inform decisions.
• Maintain Compliance & Governance – Ensure documentation and activities align with policies and standards.
• Drive continuous improvement – Identify and implement improvements across sourcing and contracting.
