Job summary

Metricon Homes, Australia's leading home builder, seeks a Procurement Category Manager to oversee strategic and tactical procurement across allocated categories from our Mount Waverley office.

Responsibilities include driving category strategies, engaging six core functions, and implementing supplier sourcing and performance programs to reduce costs and improve margins. A national-scale, performance-driven mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in business or related field with relevant experience.
• Advanced computer literacy, especially Excel and MS Office.
• Knowledge of distribution, logistics and forecasting systems.
• Familiarity with various systems and project methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Ability to prioritise and work autonomously within a team.
• Solid procurement process understanding and stakeholder engagement.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement category strategies and major objectives.
• Engage stakeholders across Design, Sales, Operations, Construction, Finance and Legal to prioritise and execute strategies.
• Implement supplier sourcing, performance management and retention programs.
• Support Construction onsite efficiency, quality and safety through high-performing supply chain.
• Reduce direct build costs and increase margins; manage margin erosion and ETS.
