Job summary

CSIRO is seeking a Procurement Advisor to join our Strategic Procurement team in Canberra, delivering high-value, complex procurements that enable world‑class science. This role offers an 18‑month term with a salary package including AU$100,103 – AU$113,251 per year plus 15.4% superannuation.

You will run end‑to‑end open approaches to market across a diverse portfolio and partner with internal clients to ensure best value, compliance and timely delivery of major national science projects.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPR) or similar procurement frameworks.
• Experience in undertaking Requests for Tenders (RFT) in line with policies and procedures, with examples.
• Experience in developing tender documentation, including internal approvals and approach to market documentation.
• Ability to manage own workload to achieve results in a professional and timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Undertake complex procurements and tender activities in a manner compliant with CPRs and internal policies.
• Explain procurement processes to ensure CPR compliance and best practice amidst time pressures.
• Lead in developing tender documentation and manage the tender process end-to-end.
• Provide support in sourcing strategies aligned with CSIRO objectives.
• Assist in contract development resulting from procurement activities (e.g., AS contracts, deeds, CSIRO templates).
• Complete reporting of applicable procurement contracts.
• Liaise with internal clients to anticipate needs and provide options that deliver best value.
