CSIRO's Information Management and Technology (IMT) team is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead complex ICT and digital initiatives across CSIRO. You will oversee multiple projects, apply agile or kanban methods, manage risks, mentor teams, and drive change to deliver outcomes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of project management experience in ICT.
• Proven ability to deliver projects to scope, budget, schedule and stakeholders.
• Experience applying sound judgement to resolve delivery issues.
• Ability to transition new products/services into business-as-usual operations.
• Strong communication with staff, clients and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage multiple complex projects using agile, kanban or appropriate methodologies.
• Deliver projects to scope, budget, schedule and stakeholder expectations with mitigated risks.
• Mentor and enable team members to perform at their best.
• Identify and manage project risks and issues and escalate where needed.

IMT supports the organisation’s technology environment, from enterprise ICT and high-performance computing to digitally enabled research programs.

You will lead complex projects across CSIRO’s Data & Digital, Information, Technology & Platforms, and AI Roadmaps, working with multidisciplinary teams and diverse stakeholders to deliver meaningful organisational outcomes.

• Plan and manage multiple, and complex, projects using methodologies appropriate to the project and the context (i.e. agile, kanban etc)

Location and office arrangements:Open to CSIRO site locations in Australian major cities.

As the successful candidate, you will bring:

• Demonstrated experience with a minimum of 5 years in project management within the ICT sector including management of multiple projects simultaneously
• Demonstrated success in delivering projects to scope, budget, schedule and stakeholder expectation
• Proven ability in applying sound judgement in relation to resolving project delivery issues
• Demonstrated ability to effectively transition new products or services into a business-as-usual operational environment.
• Displays effective communication skills with all staff, clients and suppliers in the interests of good business practice, collaboration and enhancement of CSIRO’s productivity and reputation.
• Experience working collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary, often regionally dispersed team and business unit to carry out tasks in support of CSIRO objectives.
