Job summary

Georges River Council is seeking a Strategic Planner to shape the future growth of the Georges River area. You will work on LEPs, DCPs, planning policies and land use strategies, providing research and professional planning advice across multidisciplinary teams.

The role offers a permanent, full-time position with hybrid work options, a 12% superannuation guarantee, and opportunities for ongoing education and community engagement.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in Urban Planning or related field
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning and policy development
  • Understanding of contemporary land use planning processes and practices
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with the community and professional bodies
  • Ability to work cooperatively with other Divisions within Council
  • Ability to present accurate, clear, concise and timely reports on Directorate matters
  • Experience solving complex planning and development issues

Permanent, Full-time | $101,204.99 - $117,260.87 + 12% superannuation | Hurstville

This is an exciting opportunity for a Strategic Planner to contribute to the future growth and development of the Georges River area. You’ll work across a diverse range of strategic planning projects, including LEPs, DCPs, planning policies and land use strategies, while undertaking research and providing professional planning advice.

Working within a collaborative Strategic Planning team, you’ll have the opportunity to build your experience across a broad range of planning matters, engage with key stakeholders and contribute to projects that have a genuine impact on our local community.

What We Offer
  • Permanent, Full time - 70 hours per fortnight
  • Salary from $101,204.99 - $117,260.87 per annum plus 12% superannuation
  • 9-day fortnight subject to operational requirements

What We are Looking For
  • Tertiary qualifications in Urban Planning or related field
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning and policy development
  • Understanding of contemporary land use planning processes and practices
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with the community and other professional bodies involved in the industry
  • Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with other Divisions within Council
  • Demonstrated ability to present accurate, clear, concise and timely reports on matters affecting the Directorate’s operations
  • Demonstrated experience in a problem-solving approach when dealing with complex planning and development issues
