Job summary

Georges River Council is seeking a Strategic Planner to shape the future growth of the Georges River area. You will work on LEPs, DCPs, planning policies and land use strategies, providing research and professional planning advice across multidisciplinary teams.

The role offers a permanent, full-time position with hybrid work options, a 12% superannuation guarantee, and opportunities for ongoing education and community engagement.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Urban Planning or related field
• Demonstrated experience in strategic planning and policy development
• Understanding of contemporary land use planning processes and practices
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with the community and professional bodies
• Ability to work cooperatively with other Divisions within Council
• Ability to present accurate, clear, concise and timely reports on Directorate matters
• Experience solving complex planning and development issues

Responsibilities

• Contribute to LEPs, DCPs, planning policies and land use strategies
• Undertake research and provide professional planning advice
• Engage with key stakeholders across projects
• Collaborate with Council divisions to deliver planning outcomes
