Job summary

BHP is building a Mine Scheduling Engineer talent pool in Bowen, QLD. You will develop, maintain and optimise mine schedules to support safe, efficient mining operations, working with planning, geology, drill and blast, and operations teams to align priorities with business objectives.

Ideal candidates bring mine planning and scheduling experience, strong analytical abilities, and proficiency with Deswik/Vulcan/Spry/MineSched, plus advanced Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent is required.
• Experience in mine planning and scheduling within a mining operation.
• Strong knowledge of planning principles and scheduling methodologies.
• Proficiency with Deswik, Vulcan, Spry, MineSched or similar tools.
• Advanced Excel and data analysis capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Developing and maintaining mine schedules and forecasts.
• Supporting critical path planning and schedule execution.
• Monitoring schedule performance and identifying improvement opportunities.
• Providing scheduling analysis and reporting to support operational decisions.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to balance priorities.
• Contributing to continuous improvement of planning processes.
