ThompsonCook in Melbourne's South Eastern Suburbs is seeking a Commercial Analyst in Marketing to deliver insight-led analysis that informs promotional initiatives and drives commercial outcomes across Australia and New Zealand. You will partner with senior stakeholders to translate data into actionable recommendations and support cross-functional projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years' experience within external audit, ideally in a Big 4 or mid-tier firm looking to make a first move into industry in a role that will support key commercial objectives or
• A qualified accountant currently working in industry in a medium to large corporate environment looking to progress your career into a commercially focussed role supporting non-finance stakeholders
• CA/ CPA qualified or nearing completion
• Advanced Excel skills, with exposure to Power BI or similar reporting tools advantageous
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders across finance, sales and operations
• Strong analytical capability with ability to interpret data, identify trends and provide meaningful recommendations beyond the numbers
• High attention to detail with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset

Responsibilities

• Delivering monthly commercial reports including sales and KPI analysis
• Preparing management reporting and performance analysis, providing insights into key variances, business drivers and financial results
• Partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to support commercial initiatives, evaluate business opportunities and inform decision-making
• Building financial models to support strategic commercial initiatives
• Developing financial models and business cases to assess the impact of key initiatives and support strategic decisions
• Supporting month-end processes including management reporting and financial analysis
