Job summary

ThompsonCook is seeking a Commercial Analyst to join our Melbourne team in the eastern suburbs on a permanent full-time basis. The role offers hybrid working arrangements and exposure to performance reporting, FP&A and commercial analysis, turning data into actionable insights for leaders.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will produce month-end reports, analyse variances, and build financial models while communicating clearly with both finance and non-finance colleagues.

Qualifications

• Degree in commerce, business, accounting or finance with CA/CPA desirable.
• 2+ years’ experience in commercial finance, FP&A or management reporting.
• Strong Excel skills with experience building and maintaining financial models.
• Solid accounting knowledge and understanding of P&L and its drivers.
• Experience in disability, aged care, NDIS or labour-intensive services valued.
• Clear communication with non-finance audiences and continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

• Prepare month end performance reporting by stream, program and entity, and explain variances to budget and forecast.
• Produce weekly reporting on financial and non-financial drivers such as hours, utilisation, occupancy and labour cost.
