Job summary

BlueScope, based in Port Kembla NSW, seeks an experienced Category Manager, Logistics to lead the development, negotiation and management of significant logistics contracts across Australian operations. You will provide strategic logistics advice and manage major supplier relationships.

Reporting to the Manager Procurement and Contracts, Logistics, you will drive category strategies, improve total-cost solutions, and engage senior stakeholders to deliver sustainable value.

Qualifications

• Experience in logistics and/or supply chain, preferably road logistics.
• Strong contract-management experience.
• Proven ability to develop, negotiate, implement and manage supplier contracts.
• Understanding of key logistics cost drivers.
• Ability to engage with executive management and deliver outcomes through others.
• Highly developed stakeholder-management, influencing and negotiation skills.
• Strong commercial and business acumen.
• Ability to plan, prioritise and manage multiple activities while maintaining attention to detail.
• Collaborative approach and ability to build strong cross-functional relationships.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement category strategies for significant existing and future logistics activities.
• Lead supplier negotiations and sourcing activities aligned with business plans and logistics strategies.
• Partner with Operations, Finance, Legal and Procurement to identify improvement opportunities and best total-cost solutions.
• Govern major logistics contracts and supplier relationships, ensuring continuity of service, risk management and value.
• Lead the implementation of new logistics services agreements and related business changes.
• Manage supplier performance from strategic and tactical perspectives.
• Drive formal contract reviews and ongoing cost management and innovation.
