Job summary

Mackay North State High School in North Mackay invites applications for the Head of Special Education Services (HO2). Lead the delivery of high‑quality advice and support through the Special Education Program and Early Childhood Development Program, guiding teachers supporting students with disability.

You\'ll advise school leaders on planning and implementing reasonable adjustments, coordinate intensive targeted teaching, and manage case work with external services and professional development.

Qualifications

• Coordinate delivery of SEP/ECDP advice and support.
• Advise on reasonable adjustments and targeted teaching.
• Coordinate case management with external services and professional development.
• Contribute to planning, data collection and goal setting for disability programs.
• Build partnerships with parents and government agencies.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Special Education Program (SEP) and Early Childhood Development Program (ECDP) advisory services.
• Coordinate and oversee targeted teaching and adjustments for students with disability.
• Manage case planning and connections to departmental and external supports.
• Support data collection, reporting and program monitoring for national data requirements.
• Foster collaboration with families, agencies and school staff to achieve program goals.
