Job summary

Elders Limited is seeking a Senior Corporate Counsel for a 12-month fixed-term contract in Adelaide. This in-house role requires delivering strategic and commercial legal advice across the Elders group, shaping business outcomes and governance activities while managing legal risks.

Working with a collaborative leadership team, you will provide practical guidance on transactions, regulatory obligations and governance, mentoring junior staff and supporting the organisation's growth and compliance

Qualifications

• Hold an unrestricted Australian Practising Certificate and relevant tertiary qualifications in Law.
• Bring 7+ years' post-admission experience, ideally in commercial law or corporate in-house.
• Demonstrate strong commercial acumen and ability to provide practical, risk-based legal advice.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic, commercially focused legal advice to stakeholders across the business and support informed decision-making through clear risk-based guidance.
• Identify, assess and help mitigate legal risks arising from operational activities, projects and strategic initiatives.
• Manage disputes, litigation, complaints and regulatory matters, including engagement and oversight of external legal counsel.
• Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements and legal documentation to support business objectives.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and provide proactive advice on legal and compliance obligations.
• Build trusted relationships with internal stakeholders, delivering practical legal solutions aligned to commercial outcomes.
• Develop and deliver legal education, guidance materials and training to enhance legal awareness and governance across the business.
• Mentor, guide and assist in the development of junior staff including through appropriate delegation and supervision of matters.
