Job summary

Queensland Health is seeking a Principal Health Information Manager to provide strategic leadership across Hospital and Health Services, guiding data capture, reporting and quality to support funding and performance goals.

You will lead statewide initiatives, chair HIM networks, oversee workforce development, and collaborate with executive leaders to implement digital solutions that improve patient safety and service delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master degree in Health Information Management from an accredited institution.
• Experience in Health Information Management across Queensland.
• Ability to lead quality improvement projects and initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership to hospitals and health services.
• Lead statewide initiatives to enhance HIM practices and data quality.
• Oversee workforce development programs and chair HIM network groups.
• Prepare discussion papers, reports and recommendations for statewide decisions.
• Represent Queensland Health on state and national committees.
