Job summary

Edward River Council is seeking a Coordinator Economic Development and Strategic Growth to drive sustainable economic growth, investment and strategic development across the Edward River region. You will coordinate economic development, master planning and growth initiatives to attract investment and support long-term prosperity.

The role offers flexible work options, a 35-hour week with a 9-day fortnight, and leadership of one direct report.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Business, Economics, Government Relations, Project Management or equivalent.
• Experience delivering strategies and plans to meet service unit objectives.
• Understanding of government grant/subsidy programs for Local Government.
• Ability to coordinate staff and foster customer service culture.
• Knowledge of risk management and Work Health and Safety principles.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to prepare reports and presentations.
• Current Driver's Licence.
• Working with Children and National Police Check or willingness to obtain.
• Desirable: Local Government experience.
• Desirable: Grant/subsidy applications experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and report on Economic Development team contributions to plans and budgets.
• Monitor budgets, seek savings and report performance.
• Provide strategic advice to support Council objectives and community growth.
• Lead and develop the Economic Development team in line with Council values.
• Support businesses to attract investments and create employment.
• Oversee grant management framework development and evaluation.
• Build partnerships with federal, state, local agencies and business groups.
• Lead strategic growth initiatives including precinct and master planning.
• Coordinate master planning for sites and growth areas across the LGA.
• Collaborate across Council to align economic development with planning and infrastructure.
