Job summary

Edward River Council is seeking a motivated Procurement and Leasing Officer to join our Governance, Safety & Risk team. This is a permanent full-time role focused on strategic procurement, contract management and leasing outcomes across Council.

Reporting to the Governance and Risk Coordinator, you will provide specialist advice, support governance and compliance activities, and help ensure value for money while meeting legislative obligations.

Qualifications

  • Experience in procurement, contract administration, governance, leasing or related field.
  • Strong written communication skills for reports and procurement documentation.
  • Sound analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with stakeholders.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Commitment to accountability, compliance and continuous improvement.
  • National Police Check and Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate end-to-end procurement and tender processes.
  • Provide advice on procurement strategy, contract development, leasing arrangements and probity.
  • Develop, review and administer contracts, leases and licences.
  • Support supplier engagement and contract negotiations.
  • Maintain procurement, leasing and contract management frameworks.
  • Deliver training and support to internal stakeholders.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for procurement and tendering systems including TechnologyOne, VendorPanel and TenderLink.
  • Coordinate procurement-related audit responses and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and governance requirements

About the Role:

What You Will Bring:
  • Experience or demonstrated capability in procurement, contract administration, governance, leasing or a related field.
  • Strong written communication skills and the ability to prepare reports and procurement documentation.
  • Sound analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to build positive working relationships with a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • A commitment to accountability, compliance and continuous improvement.
