Stantec in Canberra is seeking a Group Leader for Urban Development to lead a skilled team, drive delivery excellence and expand our ACT presence. You will guide projects from concept to delivery, mentor staff, and work with Practice Leaders to align with strategy.
The role emphasizes leadership, financial stewardship and strong client engagement to shape sustainable infrastructure across the region.
Qualifications
- Relevant tertiary qualifications, preferably post‑graduate.
- Minimum of 10 years’ related work, leadership, financial management and consulting experience.
- Broad range of skills covering people management, business development, project delivery and business management.
- Professional registration in a related field.
- Experience in managing teams with direct line management duties.
- Highly developed consulting skills to liaise with clients and other stakeholders to achieve mutually successful project outcomes.
- Well‑developed problem solving and negotiations skills to resolve queries.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee project teams to ensure timely, quality delivery.
- Manage talent lifecycle including recruitment, development, engagement and succession.
- Drive business development and cultivate client relationships.
- Coordinate resources with Practice Leaders and Group Leaders across regions.
- Ensure compliance with QSE, risk management, and Stantec procedures.
