Job summary

Snowy Hydro is seeking an experienced Governance Manager to lead, develop, and oversee governance frameworks, policies, and procedures with a focus on statutory, regulatory, and corporate compliance. You will empower senior leadership with transparent reporting, risk assurance, and streamlined practices while embedding a culture of ethics and safety.

This role is based at the Project Head Office in Cooma, NSW, with potential relocation or FIFO arrangements.

Qualifications

• Proven governance leadership in major infrastructure or energy projects.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Law, Project Management, or related field.
• Master communicator: simplify regulatory requirements for senior stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strategic partner capable of embedding compliance across operations.
• Safety and values driven with zero harm and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Framework development: design and operationalise project governance structures, compliance monitoring, and delegations of authority.
• Risk and assurance alignment: coordinate with ARM outputs, manage audits, maintain assurance maps, and close governance gaps.
• Reporting and compliance: deliver performance reports to Chief Delivery Officer and leadership team; manage centralised compliance register and regulatory submissions.
• Stakeholder engagement: partner with workstream leads, SMEs, legal, finance to embed governance in daily engineering and construction activities.
