Job summary

Heinemann Oceania in Sydney seeks a General Manager, People & Culture to own the full P&C portfolio and partner with regional leaders to translate business priorities into practical people, capability and workforce strategies.

This role combines traditional HR leadership with workforce planning, payroll governance, WHS, training and customer service excellence, with a strong emphasis on data, systems and commercial outcomes.

Qualifications

• Around 10 years' experience in a senior HR leadership role or operating environment.
• Experience across complex, operational workforces, ideally within retail, hospitality and multisite.
• Strong commercial acumen around workforce productivity and labour costs.
• Sound Australian ER/IR expertise and employment legislation knowledge.
• Proven ability to lead broad People & Culture functions and build high-performing teams.
• Ability to influence senior executives and translate business challenges into people solutions.
• Interest in data, systems, innovation and improving work processes.
• Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Translate business priorities into practical people, capability and workforce strategies.
• Oversee HR portfolio including payroll governance, WHS, training and customer service excellence.
• Partner with executives on business strategy, capability, productivity and people-related investments.
• Lead workforce modelling, labour cost management and data-driven decision making.
